Empower your Fertility Health

It is important to plan a pregnancy to optimize the best chances for fertility.  A detox plan is important about 3-6 months prior to trying to conceive.  We provide guidance to proper nutrition, supplements and understanding of your menstrual cycle to give you the best chance of fertility, conception, full term pregnancy and healthy labour and delivery for mom and baby.  Many conditions can impair a women’s ability to conceive, which includes PCOS, endometriosis, menstrual irregularities, low egg quality/count and miscarriage.

A salivary hormone assessment provides information to help uncover the source of cycle-specific symptoms. Some symptoms associated with hormone imbalance in the menstrual cycle include:

  • heavy bleeding
  • fertility issues
  • mood swings
  • migraine headaches
  • hot flushes

A month-long assessment requires the collection of eleven saliva samples over 33 days.  Progesterone and estradiol are reported for all 11 samples along with an average testosterone.  Additional fertility blood work may be required to determine the quality of eggs, miscarriage risk and progesterone deficiency.

Once you have conceived, there are essential supplements required for optimal brain and neurological development for baby, healthy delivery and preventing conditions such as gestational diabetes, pre-eclampsia and Grp B strep.  Trained as a Naturopathic Doula, Dr. Maria Papasodaro, ND can also provide additional labour and delivery support.

Acupuncture has been demonstrated in studies to increase fertility chances.  We incorporate acupuncture in many fertility cases to help increase blood flow to the uterus/ovaries to optimize chances of implantation in combination with herbs and vitamins/minerals.

Begin Dr. Maria’s, ND Fertility Step Program:

  1. How good are your eggs?  Blood work is completed on Day 3 of your cycle to determine the quality of your eggs.
  2. Are you ovulating?  I will show you how to determine that and find your optimal window.
  3. How good is your uterus at implanting and holding a pregnancy?
  4. What is your progesterone level?  A good progesterone prevents miscarriage and is required to hold a pregnancy.  I use hormone testing to determine your levels.
